Rod’s performance career began in the 1960s, as a French Horn with the Dunkirk Murraymen, and subsequent stints with Interstate Ambassadors, Dunkirk Flying Dutchmen and the Hamburg Kingsmen.
He later performed with the Rochester Crusaders, Ghost Riders Mini-Corps, Hamburg Kingsmen Alumni, Mighty St. Joe’s Alumni and the St. Joe’s Brass Ensemble.
Rod Keppel’s administrative experience extends to several of those organizations and beyond. He co-founded the Great Lakes Brass Alliance, chaired the committee presenting “The Classic” at the Kodak Complex in Rochester. His length of service and impact on the entirety of the activity are remarkable achievements.
