Jim McDevitt has been associated with Philadelphia area drum corps since the 1950s, first with the Rising Sun Cadets, then the Liberty Bell Cadets, then moving on to the Reilly Raiders where he marched competitively with their 1950s Corps of the Decade, as selected by the World Drum Corps Hall of Fame. He and his wife Dot continue today in a marching capacity with the Reilly Raiders Alumni Corps. He has served as the program coordinator of the Raiders. A long time instructor of McDevitt regards him as “one of the 10 finest lead soprano/soloists I worked with in my 35-plus years of instruction.”
