John “Big Jack” Werner began his drum and bugle corps activity in 1948 in Lyndhurst, NJ. From 1950 to 1957, he marched with St. Joseph’s Cadets of Newark, NJ. Between 1957 and 1975, he played lead baritone with Archer Epler Musketeers, was the choral leader and, from 1973 to 1975, was a member of the committee, which founded the alumni corps.
