Butch Myers has played a soprano horn with various well known corps since 1956 when he joined the Shrine of the Little Flower junior drum and bugle corps, one of many youth activities sponsored by the parish, which was the largest in Baltimore at the time. In 1964, he joined St. Mary’s Lancers in the middle of a streak of American Legion state championships that stretched from 1962 to 1966, the longest of any junior corps in Maryland. St Mary’s was the first drum and bugle corps in the country to produce its own television show, which aired on Thanksgiving weekend in 1964. More recently he has served as secretary and president of the Yankee Rebels Alumni Association and has also served as the secretary on the Reilly Raiders Alumni executive board. Over the years from 1973 to the current day he has played soprano with Yankee Rebels, Yankee Rebels Alumni and Reilly Raiders Alumni.
