Joseph Burns Moore (1872–1951) was a champion rudimental snare drummer, member of the Connecticut National Guard, author of several drum books, and founding member of the National Association of Rudimental Drummers. He won the Connecticut Championship four times during the late 1800s. He was a percussionist with the New Haven Symphony Orchestra for 45 years. He, along wth William Ludwig and George Lawrence Stone, were founders of the National Association of Rudimental Drummers. He served as president of NARD from 1933 – 1945.
